Cobalt & aqua: Greece on my mind

I am wearing my Mango dress • H&M scarf • Scapa flats

K had his last exam on Friday so we both had the weekend off. We slept in, ate too many strawberries and started thinking about our summer holiday. Last week, I found a postcard in the mail from Rhodos, Greece. We got the idea to travel around Greece this winter, when we were casually browsing for cruises we would never be able to afford and this postcard sparked my interest for the land of islands again. Maybe, if we planned everything on our own and based our choices on experiences from the people we know, we could save on travel costs and be save too. Alas, it’s only just a dream and since I haven’t found a summer job yet, it might not be doable at all.
So. Since we can’t go to Greece, I decided to dress like Greece. With my whiter-than-your-average-bed-sheet-skin and my new cobalt blue dress, I would be completely camouflaged on the isle of Santorini. The scarf was a gift from my mom that I actually asked for to pair it with my white floral dress, but I just loved how the turquoise looked with the blue of the dress so it’s been on this dress since.
Right now, I should actually be preparing to present my thesis to a jury this Friday. I am extremely nervous! It’s the last step towards my bachelors degree, so I truly can’t mess up my presentation. At least, not if I want to enjoy three months of student vacation. And wouldn’t that be nice? Yes. It would be.

I love this electric blue dress and how it looks on you! As for Greece, you've quite made me curious now, I'll go there in July and didn't have any major expectations until I read who eager you are to visit it.

    Have an amazing week,
    Mary x

Love the two shades of blue together! I hope you do manage to get to Greece, it is a beautiful country (based only on photos I've seen, never been there myself!)

Good luck with your presentation – you will do great I'm sure! You've put a lot of time into your thesis so you have all of the knowledge you need! 🙂

I visited Greece 10 years ago (it must be so different now) but Santorini is my favorite place! It looks exactly as the postcards picture it to be!

Oh and i would totally pair that blue dress with a skinny belt. I'm in love with skinny belts at the moment!

Love the outfit! Totally channelling Santorini with that! I, too, want to visit Greece, but I think it's going to be years down the road before the opportunity comes up!

I like how they really are the colors in the postcard. Cute outfit.

In general, I find planing things yourself is much cheaper. Also- look into hostels or apartments to rent as a cheaper alternative. Good luck.

you look beautiful! I think the blue is striking against your skin. and hey, maybe if you do get that trip to Greece you can take me too 🙂

Veel succes met het verdedigen van je thesis! Spannend hoor, maar het komt vast goed!

  11. I feel you on the whiteness front! We're currently at 36°C here, and I only want to go outside in a muumuu, preferably with long sleeves, so that I don't burn! Being pale has its downsides.
Love that color on you! It's one of my faves 🙂

Every time I come over here, I feel super intimidated because you like a bajillion comments in all different languages. I am just struggling with English and Italian!

  22. 20 June 2013 / 08:10

  24. 20 June 2013 / 14:44

I'd kill for a vacation to ANYWHERE in Europe. Unfortunately, we can't afford it either, especially needing a freakin passport. Vacation is such a luxury 🙁 I hope you DO get to go one day. You look like you belong there!

I hope your presentation went well! That sounds very nerve wracking.
You look so gorgeous in these colors! They pair together so nicely and I love how they look with your red hair.
