…Not that I ever drink tea. I’m a coffee girl by heart. Always have been, too. There’s an infamous family story about six-year-old me at a cafe with my mom and grandmother and it involves coffee. Most of my childhood memories involve coffee in some way. When I was young we’d visit my grandmother every Sunday for lunch and share coffee and cookies afterwards. We’d do the same at my great-grandmothers house too every once in a while, only she had Milky Ways instead of cookies. I grew up in a haze of freshly ground coffee, long talks and more cookies than the dentist would say is good for you. So, family story. I’m six and we’re at an undisclosed cafe in an undisclosed location and my mom and grandmother both order a coffee. When the waiter points to me my cheerful little voice, full of conviction, goes: “COFFEE!”. They were faced with the difficult task to talk me into ordering something else and I made quiet a fuzz about not being allowed to have a coffee like the adults. At the age of six, it probably had more to do with the small cookie you typically get with a coffee in any Belgian cafe, but the story still shows beautifully how I’ve always loved my cuppa. It was only a matter of time before a coffee cup would show up in my outfit photo’s.
Moving on to the outfit!
I don’t think I’ve ever shared an outfit that shows my current everyday style better than this one does. “Basic is best” really has become my motto this summer. My black and white dresses, white blouses, mom jeans and these trousers have been on heavy rotation the last few weeks. It’s only for my blog shoots that I’ve worn different looks really, haha. It’s come to the point where people ask me if I buy anything else than white blouses and I have to stop, think and admit that in fact I don’t. All I buy is white, and preferably white lace. With fall approaching I might have to consider adding some warmer tones to my everyday outfits and start shopping for items that have more “body” than the average lace blouse does. Although I’ll probably just continue happily shopping weather-inappropriate lace until my limbs freeze off, haha.
I’m having a really hard time coming to the point in this blog post. Best outfit ever, worst writing ever, haha.
There’s currently a very not-classy song from Jason Derulo (but seriously, “Swalla” is SO catchy!) blasting through my music boxes and I’m trying to talk about classic wardrobe staples. Feels kind of weird. I wanted to point your attention to the newest classic addition to my wardrobe: these horsebit loafers from Sacha. If I could afford them then I would have bought myself a pair of glossy Paraboot loafers, but since I’m new to the style and was unsure about how much I’d actually wear them I went for a cheap option first. So far, so good! They were a bit of a pain to break in, but now I’m at the stage where they are a good everyday work shoe. I went for a trendy horsebit style, and not the classic penny loafer because, well, it’s trendy and this style is less sturdy than a penny loafer and therefor a better fit with the current season. They’ll also be the perfect transition shoe from summer to fall and I can’t wait to wear them more! Check out all of Sacha’s perfect transitional sandals & loafers.
I hope you’re having a great week so far. I’ve been at work and cleaning the house, haha. Not much exciting happening over here. BUT! Just one more day before it’s the WEEKEND. Can I get a “Shimmy shimmy yay, shimmy yay, shimmy ya!”?!
Sorry. I had to.

Oh that is such a beautiful lace top! I think if there’s a style that works for you, keep buying it! nothing wrong with having lots of white in your wardrobe if it’s what you enjoy wearing 🙂
I love the classic trench with this too – perfect office outfit! While I’m not a coffee person I did have a giggle at the coffee story:)
Hope you are having a good week!
