J.Crew sweater • Vero Moda shirt • Gap jeans • Cypres heels

Let’s talk about my sweater today. It’s the ultimate one of sweaters for me. One of the prettier items in my wardrobe. And I got for 30% off during one of J.Crews many sales. When my father in law traveled to the US for work in late August, in his suitcase was a little wishlist. I didn’t think the newest collections would be available in store yet, so imagine my excitement when I got a very late-night call (he forgot about the time zones) from my dad in law to ask me if I wanted something else from J.Crew, because they were having a 30% sale. Um, whaaaat!? I don’t think I’ve ever jumped out of bed at 2 am so fast. And one more T-shirt was on it’s way to my wardrobe.

Thank you all so much for your encouraging words on my last post. I was a bit upset, not to mention incredibly hormonal due to monthly woman-things – you know what. Today my second week started, and apart from finding out that I won’t be having an exam of my Statistic course in January but only in June, I am confident that things are getting better here fast. That girl that had been in under-grad with me? She did still know me. And she also knows my boyfriend apparently, so we had a nice chat on Friday after class. It cheered me up and I went home good-mooded, ready for week two.

PS: I switched to Disqus last Thursday and have been notified that people using Internet Explorer had trouble commenting. If you’re using versions 8, 9 or 10 there shouldn’t be a problem any more. If you still cannot comment, check if your internet explorer is up-to-date. Another thing with Disqus is that not all of you have a commenting-account yet and therefor I cannot find your blogs. If you’re not comfortable creating an account, please leave a link to your blog in your comment itself so that I can find my way to you on the world wide web. Thank you!

Oh how nice of your father in law to buy some items for you! 🙂 that embellished top is a lovely twist on a normal grey top.

And I'm so glad you are feeling better and making friends in your class – the first day is never fun, too many nerves, but I'm so pleased it's going well for you now at the end of your first week 🙂

  3. 30 September 2013 / 13:27

Wow that is really nice of your father-in-law! That sweater is really cute, I've been really big on embellished or printed sweaters lately.

Heel goed dat je naar Disqus bent overgeschakeld! Heel makkelijk en je krijgt ook melding als je iets antwoordt. En zalig, zo'n schoonvader! 🙂

Oh Nikki, this had to be one of my favorite outfits from you. This is just…perfection. Not too boyish but not too frilly. Just effortlessly chic and laidback at the same time.

The adorable story about how your got the items just makes me love it all the more.

Also- thank you for having that section about Disquis. Too often bloggers make these changes and never say anything or seem to ask for feedback. It is nice (and I went for months when first blogging without realizing there as a way for bloggers to see a link to your blog unless you left it- which I feared would be spammy. Oh, live and learn!

I'm a sucker for collars and shirts, and the details on the sleeve only add to the outfit! Awesome 😀 hope you're having a good second week!

This is officially my favorite outfit yet! I love that you layered a crisp collared shirt under the sequin tee! So perfect! I'm sorry you had a horrible first day- the first day of school always gave me insane jitters. If the any of the girls in your class knew who you were, they'd be lining up to sit next to you!

That's really cute. Casual, but a little fancy 🙂 I have a few short sleeved sweaters but I never wear them. I always feel like it's either too hot or too cold for them.

I'm glad to hear that things are looking up for you (I went and read the previous post to try to catch up–sounds like I need to go even further back to do this!) and you're on a more positive path. I hate that creeping feeling of helplessness that sneaks up on you sometimes when you're stressed or overwhelmed.

This outfit is awesome, by the way! It looks really nice and professional, but still fun. Also, I swear, I can never layer shirts and look good doing it, so good job! (:

what a smashing look Nikki! the J Crew sweater is so perfectly color suited to those rad denims you're wearing. i can see your point, although i only own 2 of their woolen wears myself, i keep going back to them over and over again. the quality just maintains itself, so worth the price!

glad to hear school is getting better and you're feeling more comfortable. i know this feeling will grow every week!! cheers.

You don't often see people layering sweaters over button-ups that are both short sleeves! So cute Nikki! That was really sweet of your father-in-law to pick you up some new things from the States. Great sweater!
