Three years ago I was a senior year and the school I went to organized a ten day trip to Italy during spring break. We visited Venice on the last day of that trip and it was a bit of a bad day for me. I was exhausted, it was really hot, very crowded and we were free to roam the streets…. without a map, so we got lost and spend the majority of our time searching our way back to the San Marco square. I have two pictures from my visit in 2010 and I felt so incredibly bad that I didn’t get to enjoy Venice more when I boarded the bus back home.
Imagine how excited I was when I Googled Bologna and found out there was a direct train line between the city and Venice. I may or may not have danced around the house. For ten minutes. K had never been to Venice and thus he was pretty excited to see what it was all about too! Off we went! There were HUGE lines at the museums and churches, so we decided to skip on them – again – and stroll around the narrow streets and just enjoy the sunny day. Much like last time, the streets were jam packed with people so we branched out and searched for more calm places. We enjoyed €1 espresso’s and yummy ice creams in the weirdest flavors. Venice truly is one of Italy’s most beautiful cities in my humble opinion. It’s always good to come here. Please enjoy the photos I made, they’re the last in my Italian series! K and I started looking for our next destination and are actually doubting Italy again, haha. Naples this time though, because we both haven’t been there yet ^.^
ahhhh so beautiful!

I'm pleased for you that you had the chance to go again. The pictures are stunning. The architecture and pretty colours make it appear such an interesting place to visit
wat een prachtige foto' s meid! ik was 2j geleden in venetië en ik herken het helemaal
omg..those scenery are sooo breathtaking <3
What's crazy about Venice is that the touristy-streets are PACKED but every other place is all quiet and peaceful, it's like 99% of the visitors don't even bother walking through other parts of the city? Craaazy
Beautiful photos, I'm glad you got to explore and enjoy Venice! The water looks lovely 🙂
Away From Blue
gorgeous photos, you have really captured the colours of Venice. I have a serious fear of pigeons so St Marks Square was a nightmare for me and kind of scared me from going back but this post is making me rethink that!
Amazing photos, I would love to go there one day!
Mijn vakantie kan er niet vroeg genoeg zijn! Zucht… 🙂
Venice is so beautiful, I was there just a few weeks ago. Some great photos
A Day in the Life
I agree, Venice is a gorgeous city.
Oh Venice… Wonderful, even if I don't understand how can people live there.
I'm not a fan of Napels, I guess it's for the idea that we Italians have of the Neapolitans, but the place where the city is set is amazing. If you want to go to the beach, I would advise you the place where I live, la Rivera del Conero, but there's not much else to do here.
super mooie foto's!
Dat klinkt echt als een heerlijke trip! Prachtige foto's.

supermooie foto's!
oh boy, does this post ever take me back in time. the fabulous photography completely captures every essence of Venice's magic! i remember being almost dive-bombed by super agro pigeons in Piazza San Marco and then running to a nearby hotel patio for some salvation via a lovely cocktail. by the time we were done the square had completely flooded. supposedly happens all the time there, workers were all ready with man made boardwalks they put up so people could cross over above the water. incredibly awesome experience!!!
i can see you've had the time of your life and look so beautiful while soaking it all in too! ♥
Your photos are amazing! Looks like you had lots of fun !
I like it a lot
Wow, gorgeous photos! Have a great weekend!

Hello from a new reader, and wow that's amazing! I'm glad you got to go back and correct a memory, also I think with that cheap of espresso I would go on overload. Anything coffee related and I'm in! I've always wanted to go to Italy and looking at your pictures even further solidifies that!
Amazing photos! I am literally seething with jealousy – lol!
Thanks for sharing!
