Palm print shorts { Lord & Taylor, €44 } • Vertical striped shorts { H&M Divided, €14.95 } • Faux-leather lasercut shorts { River Island, €55 }
I was never a big fan of shorts. Dresses and skirts? Yes! Shorts? Awkward! With shorts often being too short and too wide at the waist for me, I’ve only owned two pairs for the last three years. I have a pair of gorgeous olive-colored shorts and simple denim ones that go with everything. Both from H&M and both bought while I was still in High School. And that’s a while ago. So for summer ’13 I decided I could use a few extra pairs!
At the start of spring, I was pretty hesitant about the palm-print trend. I like my T-shirts and dresses simple, so I had no idea how to incorporate the trend into my own wardrobe. Untill I spotted these super cute palm-print shorts at C&A for a mere €15. They’ve been on my watch for about two weeks now, but I can’t buy them just yet because I’m currently in Italy and will probably be completely broke after this trip.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I was going to Italy now did I? – Oops.
The other two types have actually been added to my wardrobe already! That means I’ve doubled the amount of shorts I can wear from two to four this year! As a gift for my internship ending well, my mom treated me to a more basic pair of faux-leather shorts from Vila. I also loved the cut-out details on this pair from River Island, but they’re a bit expensive and I wasn’t sure how much I’d actually wear them. FYI: I’ve worn my Vile shorts 5 days already! A week later I found a perfect pair of vertically striped ones at Forever 21 for €20. I actually wanted the exact pair I featured above, but my size was out so I had to search for an alternative. Forever 21 has a lot of striped shorts right now, so you might want to check the store if you want a pair for yourself!
I’m off to enjoy another day in Italy. I’ll tell you all about our last-minute vacation soon. And Alissa, if you’re reading this, next time I need you to come with me as my interpreter. I don’t understand a bit of what these Italians are saying!
