The nineties trends just won’t go away, do they? I must say that I sometimes still suffer from nightmares about that first round of plastic chokers, buffalo sneakers and band tees that I got to live through when I was a kid. I was always a little behind when it came to fashion must-haves back then. Mostly because I was more into trading Pokémon cards than fashion at that time, although I do remember vividly how we got chokers out of those bubblegum machines every once in a while. The joy of that era! Just a few moths ago I proclaimed to never ever ever of my life return to nineties fashion, yet here I am wearing a denim button-down miniskirt. How much more can I flashback to my early fashionista days? The denim mini skirts have been growing on me and after seeing a certain pin on Pinterest I couldn’t get them out of my head anymore. I must admit that this skirt was an impulse buy. One of those “let’s see if I can get away with this at age 24”-things. 24 is still young, but I’ve never been one to wear mini-things and I knew I had limited options to wear it with my existing wardrobe. The white tee and white converse sneakers have a very high High School factor, so to give the outfit a shot of adultness I added my Furla Julia bag. When I wear this skirt I feel like 30 going on 13 and tbh all the stares I get (my long legs + a mini skirt = whistles x 1000) make me feel really awkward too. I doubt if this skirt is going to be worn much, but that’s why I bought the cheapest version I could find. It doesn’t look bad for €19.99, does it? Minis skirts are all the rage for fall so I’m pretty excited to see how mine pairs with opaque tights and ankle booties. Maybe I can get more wears out of it when it gets too cold for bare legs!
Not much has been happening on the personal life front. Just the same old, same old. Work, eat, sleep, repeat and sometimes I grab a nice, hot PSL to celebrate the coming of fall. Fall is my favorite season. It always has been. I can’t wait to wrap myself up in my comfy knits and warm my hands on steaming hot take-away coffees some more. The mornings have gotten chilly, the sun goes down notably earlier and there’s even the odd fallen leave here and there. This might just be the last summer look on The Ginger Diaries for 2016, but I am SO excited to share my favorite fall looks! I’ve done some serious shopping… . Stay tuned!

I remember those chokers too! Which is why I had a giggle when they came around again!
I really like this denim mini on you, although I’m sorry it’s got you some unwanted attention. Your legs do look great though! 🙂 I could easily see it layered up for autumn as you said with soe tights – perhaps the extra coverage that way you’ll feel more confident in it? 🙂
Hope you’ve had a great weekend 🙂
