The Perfect Black Ankle Boots

My name is Nikki and I’m a shoe-addict. I don’t know what’s gotten into me, but lately I’ve been on a shoe-buying spree and added three new pairs to my wardrobe in just a few weeks. That’s more shoes than I bought in the whole year 2015. Shoes are not my thing (Well, were not my thing) and I’ve always been pretty much a basic bitch when it comes to footwear: a few pairs that go with everything. My silver brogues were a first step away from my basic shoe closet and since it felt pretty good to make a statement, I decided to step out of my comfort zone again.

I always wear my high heels from Boo! with dresses in the winter and under my famous flared jeans. I’ve had them since high school and that means they are old (for reference: I graduated from grad school this year). I replaced my worn out OG’s with these shiny new ankle booties from Mellow Yellow, a French brand that I discovered during a blog event. The event took place in a shoe store and I fell in love with these boots right away. Being unemployed, buying them was not an option at the time, but eventually I found them on sale at Marcoz. Good things come to those who wait, I suppose! I must admit that I haven’t worn them as much as I thought I would, but I styled them in an outfit shoot that is coming your way next week so stay tuned for that!
