I thought about titling this post 4 shades of red, but that’s a bit of an old joke today, isn’t it? I know you’re probably sick of my seasonal obsession with red, but I was inspired to combine my maroon skirt with this poppy red sweater after seeing a girl on campus wear a cardigan with these two colors in it. It might be an unconventional combination – right, mom? – but I prefer this all-red look over the all-white trend that’s been going around the blogs this winter season. There’s another reason why there has been so many red in my outfits lately: I am a terrible packer. I live on campus during the week and only go home on the weekends to do my laundry and pack fresh clothes. On Sunday I tend to pack the things I am in the mood for in that moment, and this weeks mood was especially influenced by the boyfriend listening to American Christmas carolls. I wore this to classes today, tomorrow I have a red dress on the menu and on Wednesday I planned an outfit with my red/blue flannel shirt. The new red blazer is going over an LBD for a dinner party on Thursday and on Friday I’ll probably be so tired I’ll go with a jeans and repeat this comfy sweater. No matter how cold and dark the days, my wardrobe will lift my mood right up!
I hope you guys had a lovely weekend. I spent mine finishing my last paper of the semester and marking a few chapters in one of my books to prepare for my upcoming exams.
