Wearing: Zara jacket, H&M dress, Aldo bag, La Strada shoes, ring bought @ Washington Dulles Airport
It was raining when we made these photos. You know, that soft drizzeling rain, after an unannounced cloud-burst, when the air feels fresh and clean and smells so nice. Since we had the shelter of an umbrella I decided not to take along a raincoat, but to pull on this light summery jacket over a simple lace skaterdress. My mom got it for me after I passed my theory exam for my drivers license, two years ago now. Last time I wore it, was on the day we took the first ever outfit photos for this blog, then called Go Home My Dear. It makes me nostalgic! Something old, something new. Meet my new purple satin shoes. Now how wrong does that sound? purple satin shoes? They’re gorgeous and they were cheaper than what I usually pick from new collections. I have, like I’m sure many of you do too, expensive taste. Mom says I inherited that from my grandma. I saw these shoes, missed a breath, swiped my card. Short pain for my wallet, but pretty long pain for my feet, because I tried to walk these in when I had a busy day ahead… .
With august coming, my three month summer break from college is almost halfway. I’m not planning on letting it go by without taking full advantage of the fact that I have no worries about school assignments or exams whatsoever. I watch the Discovery channels (we’ve got 4 of them, thanks dad!) untill late night and sleep in late in the mornings. I stay in my housewear for as long as I can and make milkshakes everyday. My plans for this weekend also include a restaurant visit and a day photographing Antwerp. I want to experiment with shutter speeds and different light settings this weekend, so that’s going to be fun!

Leuk he, als een oud jasje nog steeds past :). Mijn zomerjas is ondertussen al vijf jaar oud. Natuurlijk heb ik ook nog andere zomerjasjes, maar die oude wordt nog steeds gedragen! Geniet nog van je vakantie :).

And, yes, soak as much summer time as you can! At this point in the summer, i’m usually ready for fall, but i am actually really sad that it’s already august. The past few months have gone by much more fast, and i need more time in the sun and at the beach!

I would like milkshakes every day too please! Those shoes are the perfect accessory to go with the neutrals in your outfit. I hate breaking in new shoes. I always end up walking in barefeet or limping.
