Zara sweater and jeans // C&A scarf // F21 belt // Cypres shoes
We got the first heavy snow fall of the season last Friday. The streets were covered in a white blanket and only then it hit me: winter has come. Even though it was only 6:30 am when I left for college, I could appreciate the magical vibe that was radiating through our street. The workmen had come around to hang up the Christmas lights the day before, and they were all turned on and people had started to decorate their front doors and windows too. So many wreaths, lights and snow: you can’t help but happily hop to the bust stop. The Disneyland-feeling quickly faded though, as I soon was reminded of why I actually don’t like snow that much. Public transport terror. Two more minutes at the bus stop and I think my bum would have frozen off. My bus arrived with a 40 minute delay in the city, which caused me to miss the bus to the next city, which then caused me to miss the bus to college. Oh boy, I wonder what will happen when winter comes to it’s peak in January. I made it to my art class, soaking wet and with numb feet, happy to be in a room with heating. The only things missing were a comfy chair and hot cocoa. Now that would have been a nice day at school!
Did you get to enjoy snow already this season? ^^

Let's make a petition for all classrooms to have huge armchairs and hot cocoa for long and boring lectures. Also YES to the red pants! You look amazing. And I love your glasses.

In your title you're not talking about these photos, are you? Cause I think these are great.
It's snowing and cold here as well…I'm not a winter person, I don't like it…I guess snow is better then just cold and we though.

We've gotten snow too- magical to look at, but cold and wet and makes any sort of transportation awful 🙁
You look cute as can be. I love the light, on light colors paired with the red.

we have had LOTS of snow. it's a little unusual, but not unheard of. I'm just remembering, yet again, how hard it is to get used to the cold!

Sorry to hear the snow messed up your transport! It does look so magical though 🙂

Love that outfit – you look so cute & cozy! I love the snow when it's falling…but living in the city it immediately turns brown and disgusting! Glad you made it to class 🙂

We got our first real cold front….no snow, though. Yeah, public transport is probably the world part of having snow. You outfit looks awesome! I love the red and nude colors paired together. And I think it looks totally cool with that wall as the background!

Haha, I laughed at both your post title and the contents of your post! It's so true that drivers and transportation get CRAZY once snow hits…we too had a huge snowfall and driving has been a mess 😛 Love your red pants, btw, they are so festive and trendy — plus they're a different colour than the wall, hehe 🙂

Ugh, winter! I agree, it makes getting around much harder but hey, it makes us so much more grateful for spring 😀
Love the sweater, even in front of that background!

Cute pants and shoes! And I really wish we lived somewhere that it snowed, but then again, I think I would be terrified to actually try to get anywhere in it 😀 Glad you got to class!

I also love how pretty snow is, but I hate travelling in it! We only had one snowfall so far, but I'm hoping for more. I love how cozy your sweater looks too!

holy cute Nikki! and photo lesson duly noted too 🙂 good one and it almost happened to me last week before i noticed that i blended perfectly well into a red wall. looked like my face was just stuck there, so weird – baha!
i'm completely envious about your winter wonderland news. how awesome to have snow, by the way you describe it the whole place sounds like a dreamland of twinkly lights and white capped covered greenery. how lovely! too bad about your transit woes though. when we have a rain fall some people just turn completely mad and race around like they'd escaped an asylum. the thing is we're known for our rain so that makes it extra strange they react in such an extreme way. ah well, at least you made it into class unscathed (too much anyways).
oh, so i read your comment and replied but wasn't sure if you'd get it so here's what i said: "Nikki, you are the most darling orb angel ever, thank you!!! i use photoshop for all my edits. so many combos to get certain looks but the white space is just, well "white space". I either make the photos the same size and them slip them next to each other or sometimes i'll add white bars on top to make them fit together. sizing is all done in PS too, a trick i use when images don't exactly match is called content aware scale and it's a filler that can convert non image to image, hopefully matching what the image already holds. hard to explain everything i do cos it changes all the time but i sure appreciate you asking and blushed a bit too!"
one thing too is that because you leave your images at 875px high then it doesn't leave much room width wise. i usually re-size mine to a 650px width first and then tweak the height if needed. that way it keeps the original composition of the whole image most of the time. um and your words were very good for my circulation, i was blushing for like an hour after reading them. thank you! xo ♥

Haha, aaww, your welcome 🙂 I find it so easy to write responsive comments on your blog, I don't know why really ^^ I didn't read your reply, I guess Google doesn't mail you when you reply like DisQus often does 🙂 It's a bit unhandy.
Thank you SO much for your help! I don't have Photoshop, but that white bar over a collage is definitely doable in the online editor I use! I never really thought it would be that easy, haha. Oh, the things you miss when you're thinking too much / far ! I had never heard of "content aware scale" before, so I definitely will be looking into that as well. I sounds like a usefull tool to have… once I get my hands on a version of Photoshop!
Thanks again for helping me! Hope you are having a great weekend. ^^
