After 7 years of blogging it was about time I gave The Ginger Diaries the web space it deserves. Ever since I was little – we’re talking elementary school age – I wanted to have my own independent website. Today I present you The Ginger Diaries 2.0. Guys, I am the happiest redhead in all of the blogosphere.
Satuday was the big day! After about thirteen years of dreaming, I hauled my custom domain and all 564 posts over to a self-hosted WordPress. All in all the transfer went pretty smooth. There was a minor hick-up when the official Blogger Importer turned out not to be updated for the newest WordPress release and later something also went wrong with Disqus. I have all the comments you guys left me up until December of 2014 and then there’s nothing… . They are still in my Moderation Panel, but they are not visible on the new site. So, bear with me while I work out those last few technical bits and edit my pages to look their Sunday best. In the meantime, please enjoy the new dynamic and mobile friendly version of The Ginger Diaries and tell me what you think!
For old times sake, here’s what the blog looked like until Friday:
