Event Report: Pinko Trunk Show

Event Report: Pinko Trunk Show

Sooooo. Did I go to the fashion show or did I not? I did it. By myself. Alone. Almost peeing my pants of nervousness. K walked me down there but he turned left to meet his friends as I turned right to end up on the main shopping street. Only one more corner to turn. Dare I? My nerves were blocking my feet and I kind of sort of totally started flipping when I saw festive candles outside a store and knew that had to be the address. And then… I just crossed the street and entered. It was …

New Look Store Re-opening

New Look Store Re-opening

On the 7th of February the New Look store on Antwerp’s high street re-opened after being treated to a complete make-over. I teamed up with Laurein to check out the new look of New Look. To me, The old store concept felt rather heavy, with bold yellow shelves and tiny rooms filled to the brim with clothes and shoes. The renewed store looks clean and organised and is a true pleasure to look around in. Laurein, lucky duck, had won a gift card and went completely wild. They had a 50% off sale on the whole collection, …

Advertorial: College Book Rentals & Operation Smile

Advertorial: College Book Rentals & Operation Smile

Meet my college books. Books, meet these lovely people! All of their content is safely stocked on the hard disc that is my brain. The thing about college books is that they are really expensive. And it’s hard to sell them off to students from the next years, as the teachers always find a way to tweak them a little for the next school year. A lot of these books have never even been used. See those four binders? Only two turned out to be relevant, meaning I wasted more than a hundred dollars on them. …

Scenes of winter

Scenes of winter

Forget what I said about winter in a last post. When I opened up my curtains on Wednesday morning, there was a big cover a fluffy white crystals covering the landscape. The snow on my neighbor’s roof almost blinded me, as the sun reflected heavily of the snow surface. A true winter wonderland. The bus to school did not show up as expected. So slightly in panic I ran back to the house and practically commanded my dad to bring me to the city to catch my bus to college. At 8.27am we arrived …

When a blogger meets a blogger

When a blogger meets a blogger

Picture by Daryl This post is waaaay over due. Like half a year I think. I’m the worst post manager. Maybe I should have made a resolution about using Google Calender in 2013? Anyway. One morning in mid September, yes that long ago, I  woke up and went straight into Panic mode. I was supposed to be at the train station, dressed and ready, in 20 minutes. And I needed a shower. In our crappy studio getting the water to the right temperature can easily take you 5 minutes. First world problem, I know. Somehow I managed to …

Studyin’ Studyin’ Yeah!

Studyin’ Studyin’ Yeah!

It’s that time of year where the Belgian students dive into their books and are glued to their desk and college benches for 3 weeks on end. Some have started already, but I still have until Monday to prepare for my first. My first exam is the biggest bullet to bite. Social Law is no smallie. This year it’s about pensions and special governmental funds for the elderly and low-income families. Thus, A lot of rules to learn! Second is a course of which the vocabulary is longer than the summary I made of the book.  …
