A redhead in red

A redhead in red

Is it me or is this a bad fall foliage-wise? I was fully prepared to get snappy happy when the colours would burst, but no such thing ever happened. It seems like the leaves went from fresh and green to dead and dry in just one night. Almost all the trees are bare now, and my (unprofessional) photography heart is bleeding. Oh well. The sidewalks are covered in crunchy brown leaves and I can’t help but kick them up everytime I walk through them. Or throw them up and spread them all over the placew which then gives …

The Ginger Diaries got a facelift!

The Ginger Diaries got a facelift!

Bye Bye!  My initial plan was to set up the new lay-out on Monday, but some friends were too anxcious to see it and to be honest, I was SO tired of the old look that I didn’t really want to wait  myself. When I first started I wanted to hire a web designer for the job. Things didn’t work out financially, so I had to do the redesign on my own. As those of you who follow me on Twitter might know, that plan did not go smoothly. I downloaded the Photoshop 30 day …

Central Station

Vero moda blouse / Ichi skirt / Footwork boots / H&M tights I think I had one of the worst weeks of my life mood-wise. We had a groupwork in college and things were going so, so bad. People we’re planning, writing and basically working out their parts of the project without any deliberation. No one was answering questions, emails or texts. No one had time to meet up. With our deadline coming up, stress was building and I had the whole doom scenario playing in my head. Today, we finally sat down with the four of us and …

I had to… My cardigan matched the leaves

Hema cardigan // AE shirt // H&M pin // Gap jeans // La Strada shoes // Aldo bag  When we saw this little lane with all the yellow leaves after school we knew it was the perfect place to quickly get some pictures. My friend K, who’s the other part in “we” was appointed photographer and happily played her part. That building building behind me is a highschool and the seniors were having lunchbreak. Awkward stares galore, but who cares. The leaves matched my cardigan, so it was meant to be. Half way down our instant feel-good shoot, …

My camera has seen the light

My camera has seen the light

My camera broke down. The automatic stabelizer doesn’t work and there is something wrong with the light settings. Even on ISO 100 and F5.6 every photo I take has this harsh, white light. With any ISO over 1000, I get blank photos. Just a plain white canvas. The only mode that still gives me somewhat natural light is the auto mode, but I don’t like to shoot in that because the depth of field gets lost. I went to the camera store, and they told me they had to send it to the factory in Asia and I&…

I can’t get no saturation

I can’t get no saturation

“All hope is in vain” my philosophy teacher once said. Not exactly the words you want to hear right before you start your oral exam, but so true for the past weekend. On friday I crossed my fingers and still hoped for some dry hours, but it went from drizzeling to pouring and back. Saturday was no better, and by Sunday all my photographers had left town again. No enjoying the fall foliage. No outfit photos. Instead, wthe boyfriend and I tried to make a lemon-merengue pie but failed big time. I find comfort in the …
