10 things I don’t like about fall

H&M skirt & top // Essentiel bag // Brandless shoes
I always do the opposite of what “the normal people” are doing. Like when we are in Psychology class and we have to choose the right solution for a case study and everyone says A and I say B, or like this post. Everyone is saying how much they love fall and sum up a million reasons why, but I have to come in and ruin the magic by pointing out why I don’t like it. Sometimes I am right when I go left (weird formulation) and sometimes I am not. Let’s see if you can agree with me on some of these?
  1. Leaving home before the sun is up, and coming home after it went off to shine over America. Short days, long school hours.
  2. Waiting in the dark for the bus to college, 95% of the time I’m doing so in pouring rain.
  3. Pouring rain.
  4. Leaves sticking on my heels. SO not classy.
  5. The ice cream car doesn’t pass daily anymore 🙁
  6. There are no strawberries!
  7. Untameble flyaways from pulling wool sweaters over my head.
  8. People with really big umbrellas on narrow sidewalks. They almost poke your eyes out when they cross you.
  9. Extra crowded busses
  10. Leaving your big umbrella on the crowded bus home after school when you have to walk home in the dark and pouring rain. #justgreat
Ofcourse the list of reasons I love fall is endless. For example: the colour scheme. I love the warm colours you see in both nature and fashion stores. Mustard is overrepresented in my wardrobe, but oxblood really is the it-colour this fall. I bought this skirt at H&M last week without thinking it over. Not that it needed much consideration as it was only €15, it’s a pencil skirt and it’s oxblood. FYI, oxblood is a really horrible name for such a pretty colour. I like bordeaux better. Just say it with a french accent. Fancy smanchy! Once I got home I realised I had no idea how to wear this colour. My issue of Instyle mag suggests dark navy and black, but I wanted someting more fresh looking for the early days of fall. I randomly started throwing on  my T-shirts and this (old) pastel pink lace number from looked suprisingly good! An outfit was born. I love it! What would you pair oxblood with?

omg u haar is super mooi!! De kleur is echt super! En die rok staat je super mooi!

  2. 14 September 2012 / 17:47

I don't have any oxblood clothes, but I saw the other day that someone paired it with mint green and it looked really good.

  3. 14 September 2012 / 18:10

OK, as much as I LOVE fall, I have to agree with you about the shorter days. There's nothing I hate more than leaving when it's dark, and getting home when it's dark. And when it gets dark when I'm STILL at work.

But I do love layering, and the colors are to die for! Also, I read 'bordeaux' automatically in a French accent 😉 The color looks great on you! I might try it out with some mustard yellow.

  4. 14 September 2012 / 18:47

You look so pretty! I am wearing the same color skirt today, isn't it just the best for fall! 🙂

  7. 14 September 2012 / 20:31

oooh knap, uw vrouwelijke curves komen echt goed in de rokje uit, me like. Very mad men-ish!
Ik heb ook ne love and hate met de herfst, maar wel hoera voor dekentjes in de zetel en warme choco?!

  8. 14 September 2012 / 23:21

    Beautiful look ! =)

    Xoxo from France

Lol. There are a ton of reasons to hate the fall (and to love it), but it is sad to hear that you are already seeing so little sunlight. Living in an arid desert, I'm not sure I even own an umbrella. We do usually get snow on Halloween.

THat's a pretty color, but I'm not sure what other colors you'd pair it with besides neutrals like white, black and cream….maybe a tan or a grey too.

You look great in it at anyrate!

  10. 15 September 2012 / 05:41

I don't think there is anything I dislike about Autumn. <3 As for Ox Blood, I agree on the name! Eep. Bordeaux is so much prettier. 😀 Also, as for me, I'd pair a bordeaux blouse with slightly flared dark wash jeans and stacked black heels!

  11. 15 September 2012 / 07:39

I love your skirt! I guess fall has it's benefits and down points!

  12. 15 September 2012 / 09:21

haha leuk artikel 🙂 ik vind de kleur van je rokje erg mooi! ♥

  13. 15 September 2012 / 17:12

Ohh, the oxblood trend. The color itself is great but the name is something special. I'm sure I'd try the color with everything in my closet just to be sure I didn't miss a winning (and dozens of losing) combination(s).

  14. 15 September 2012 / 19:10

I agree that oxblood is a terrible name but that skirt is beautiful!

Also you are experiencing autumn in the wrong country! Here the sun is still shining and I'm still wearing shorts!

  15. 15 September 2012 / 20:03

De rok is echt mooi! Heb hem zelf in het zwart

  16. 16 September 2012 / 00:50

Love the colour of your pencil skirt! I think you can pair it with tans, and greys and blacks and navys like you said. Pastels and white work well too, to be really autumnal and match the leaves you could try orange!

  17. 16 September 2012 / 02:53

Ahh leaves stuck on heels is the worst! But I've got to admit I kind of love how dark it is in Winter. :). And oxblood is the coolest colour name ever!

  18. 16 September 2012 / 18:18

I can see the ingenuity and good taste that inspire you to do this job.

  19. 16 September 2012 / 20:54

I agree with you about hating to get somewhere in the dark. Early sunsets are my least favorite thing about fall, but I will take them for all of the pumpkin flavored treats!

  20. 17 September 2012 / 11:02

Haha aw…well glad there are things you like about fall too! LOVE love love that skirt on you – so pretty 🙂

Mooiste outfit ever ofzo? Echt je ziet er geweldig uit op deze foto's. En jouw 10 redenen om de herfst niet leuk te vinden deel ik volledig. Ugh, die korte dagen, ik kijk er echt niet naar uit.

  22. 17 September 2012 / 15:45

    LOVE the skirt! Great outfit…

I would also pair it with mint green, and fun gold accessories. I dress very strange.

  23. 18 September 2012 / 08:15

Heel mooi! Girly, maar toch ook classy, mooie combi!
En ik hou van de herfst en winter… en al je 'blugh' redenen zijn allemaal waar, maar ik heb evenveel 'blugh' redenen voor de zomer 😉

  24. 20 September 2012 / 13:06

Cute outfit, I love your bag 🙂

  25. 22 September 2012 / 12:58

I also pair it with white, black too, but it doesn't stand out as goos as it does with white! Great outfit.

  26. 23 September 2012 / 17:23
