• Blogging on the bright side

I’ve been working at my new job for a solid five months now and I still haven’t found a blogging schedule that fits my new life as an adult. Add to that the house we bought and all the work that goes into planning the renovations and you get me… forgetting that I even have a blog. I don’t know what just happened, but I completely forgot to plan some much needed blog-time this weekend. Or any me-time at all. I’ve been sleeping a little…

    SKM Try-Outfit service

When I was younger, shopping was my hobby, my therapy, my life. I was always on the High Street. If you needed me on a Saturday afternoon you could bet you’d find me in the local H&M, thinking up outfits I wasn’t able to afford with my allowance. Searching endlessly through the racks, I knew exactly what stores carried what items and I quickly learned what stores I liked and what places I didn’t have to waste my time in. …

Meet Cate! The Guess Cate Bag & Duifhuizen.nl Review

Meet Cate! The Guess Cate Bag & Duifhuizen.nl Review

My sister is the biggest Guess fan. Looking at her closet, my guess (now this…) is that she has about 50 handbags and I bet 49 of them are from Guess. While my sister is all over Guess, I have to be honest and tell you that I am not the biggest fan. I find that the brand in general doesn’t really match with my personality and other than the odd single piece here and there their collections have never really appealed to me. Things…

    Bootielicious: My new fall booties

    Bootielicious: My new fall booties

Fall fashion and me is one big love story. Layers, warm colors, thick knitwear, scarfs, flannel shirts, booties… . What’s not to like!? Since I was finishing my degree in uni in the first semester last year, I didn’t have the funds to treat myself to new fall footwear. I wore the two pairs of boots that I had to death and even braved the cold with my airy Nikes sometimes to spare the boots. I took them out of storage last week and …

    Nineties Nightmares

    Nineties Nightmares

The nineties trends just won’t go away, do they? I must say that I sometimes still suffer from nightmares about that first round of plastic chokers, buffalo sneakers and band tees that I got to live through when I was a kid. I was always a little behind when it came to fashion must-haves back then. Mostly because I was more into trading Pokémon cards than fashion at that time, although I do remember vividly how we got chokers out of those bubblegum …

    My New Favorite Jacket

    My New Favorite Jacket

I heard that shooting in the middle of the street is cool now, so we tried it. Other than having even more people stare at us than usual, we had good fun. Every shoot with my friend K is loads of fun really. We goof around a lot and accidentally end up with a few good shots that I can use for the blog. In case you are interested in how this shoot went down, I will happily paint the picture for you! She was …

    Indian Summer Feelings

    Indian Summer Feelings

Life has been a whirling roller coaster these past two weeks and I am feeling completely drained. In the mess that is my schedule these days I completely forgot to get this blog post ready for Monday. So, here we are, on Wednesday and without much inspiration to write. Last weekend Eline and I took time to go shooting for our blogs. After one shoot we got distracted by ice cream and just let it be. The week before we had also taken an attempt …

    Don’t sugarcoat it

While I had been shopping my wish-listed items for the upcoming fall season to my hearts content, Mother Nature decided it was time for a heat wave. Heat waves only mean two things to me: sunburns and sweat. Those two things happen to not look good in outfit photos, so that explains my absence from my blog and social media last week. I was also feeling a little under the weather (that’s punny) due to a little sickness, nervousness about new tasks at work …

    Fragrance combining with Jo Malone

    Fragrance combining with Jo Malone

I’ve always been fine without perfume. While all of my friends were obsessing over Marc Jacob’s Daisy or Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle, I was completely lost about how and why high school girls could drop €50 and more on a bottle of scented water. That was, my friends, until I walked into Senteurs D’Ailleurs in Brussels and got acquainted with Jo Malone. Jo  Malone is different. The British brand is well-known for bringing out scents that no one else would think of. Their …

6 Topshop dresses you need in your wardrobe

01 Plisse tank dress (€46) / 02 Slouchy 90s dress (€50) / 03 Pleated lace dress (€117) / 04 Mini wrap dress (€50) / 05 Dotted Wrap Playsuit (€68) / 06 Asymmetric drape dress (€40) Topshop, I have a love-hate affair with it. Generally I’m not a fan of the price-quality ratio, but they still manage to draw me in with their always up-to-date collections. This time their collection of dresses seriously got me excited! Number 6 is my favorite from the bunch. I wish…
