The London Diaries: A walk by the Thames & Harrods

The London Diaries: A walk by the Thames & Harrods

After visiting Covent Garden we made D-tour to greet Londons main tourist attractions The London Eye and Westminster Abbey. It was pretty cold and windy that afternoon, so I consider this long walk not our best idea of that day. It felt a as bit of a reward to spot a cute, almost hidden bakery from behind my wild windswept locks. Seriously, that’s the reason there’s no pictures of me really. Terrible hair. From Westminster we took the tube down to …

The London Diaries: Soho & Covent Garden

I’m typing this post with one hand while the other is pressing a cold water compress to my badly twisted right ankle ankle, my two knee braces are supporting my swollen knees and I have a big bruise on my left shoulder. Did I fall of my bike, you ask? No, I spend three days in the wonderful city in London. Remember that awesome but stupid thing I did in early December? K and I spontaneously booked a trip to London. …

A day in Düsseldorf, Germany

A day in Düsseldorf, Germany

Cold, mist, rain and wind could ruin our Christmas spirit last Thursday. We’re hardcore. Mom, grandma and I drove down to Düsseldorf in Germany on a grey morning to enjoy a day full of lights, gifts, funny Christmas mugs, mulled wine, hot cocoa, reibekuchen and lots and lots of shopping. Grandma bought me the prettiest hat and mom got me a new winter coat after dad shrunk my old one. I have no idea how he managed to do that! I can’t …

New York: Finest moments

New York: Finest moments

Sorry for the cloverfield effect in the video. Walking and filming don’t go that well together. So… you might want to hear a few fun things that went down in the big ole’ city of New York, don’t you? Besides drinking more coffee daily than I would on a weekly basis and spending my yearly shopping budget in two weeks, here’s some fun stories! First of all, we ended up in an elevator with a bunch of friendly hyperactive Asian kids who …

A Day In Antwerp

A Day In Antwerp

My latest photograhy “things”: overexposure and out of focus subjects I wrapped up the schoolyear yesterday and those who follow me on twitter know I have landed a temporary full time job for the next two weeks. Starting today. Gosh, did that hurt in the morning, haha! I love the job though and I got to meet all the new co-workers that joined our team since my last day in May. The sales are coming up and we are starting with a pre-sale this friday,&…

A weekend in Germany

A weekend in Germany

Treis-Karden, walking along the river banks. The hills in the back are covered in vine yards!   An old fortress in Cochem Cochem Windbeutel: warm cherries, pudding, whipcream and vanilla ice cream. Yum! Koblenz, at the point where the Rein and the Moessel meet. Somewhere in March K, my parents and I took a few days off and went to Germany. Eventhough Germany is really close (hello neighbours!) I had never been there before, apart from two times we visited the Christmas markets in Dü…

A day in Lille, France

A day in Lille, France

On Thursday we drove down to Lille for some shopping! Well, actually my sister shopped, my mom paid and I was just beeing annoying and snapping a million photos of them. I had a pretty exhausting two days in the city. So much shops to do in so little time! I’ve found a perfect replacement for my trusty old levis and I may or may not have bought another striped tee. On arrive sur le sixième étage! This would make a lovely backdrop …

Versailles

Versailles

A little outside of paris there’s a beautiful domain named Versailles. The castle seems like it’s made of gold and the gardens are immense! Versailles was my favorite part of our trip (and probably K’s too). We had amazing weather, all the flowers were blossoming and the ponds were full of people in little boats. To add to all the magic there was music by Mozart. This year we also had time to visit the Marie Antoinette mansion. We took a nap …

An evening stroll in Paris

An evening stroll in Paris

Our first day in Paris, we payed a quick visit to Château de Vincennes and Parc Floral. It was really sunny outside. A sudden 30°C outburst in September, after a two week monsoon? Cah-raazay! If K wouldn’t have stopped me, I would have jumped into the lily pond to cool off. After we visited Parc Floral, we decided to stop by St-Michel to grab a pancake. St-Michel is the lively area next to the Notre Dame. Out of ideas on what to do …
