New Look Store Re-opening

New Look Store Re-opening

On the 7th of February the New Look store on Antwerp’s high street re-opened after being treated to a complete make-over. I teamed up with Laurein to check out the new look of New Look. To me, The old store concept felt rather heavy, with bold yellow shelves and tiny rooms filled to the brim with clothes and shoes. The renewed store looks clean and organised and is a true pleasure to look around in. Laurein, lucky duck, had won a gift …

Advertorial: College Book Rentals & Operation Smile

Advertorial: College Book Rentals & Operation Smile

Meet my college books. Books, meet these lovely people! All of their content is safely stocked on the hard disc that is my brain. The thing about college books is that they are really expensive. And it’s hard to sell them off to students from the next years, as the teachers always find a way to tweak them a little for the next school year. A lot of these books have never even been used. See those four binders? Only two turned …

When a blogger meets a blogger

When a blogger meets a blogger

Picture by Daryl This post is waaaay over due. Like half a year I think. I’m the worst post manager. Maybe I should have made a resolution about using Google Calender in 2013? Anyway. One morning in mid September, yes that long ago, I  woke up and went straight into Panic mode. I was supposed to be at the train station, dressed and ready, in 20 minutes. And I needed a shower. In our crappy studio getting the water to the right temperature …

CLOSED – Welcoming new times: a 2012 Reader Survey

CLOSED – Welcoming new times: a 2012 Reader Survey

Hey everyone! With new year rolling in and everyone making resolutions, I’ve been thinking a lot about this little ole blog. I’ve been feeling more on the downside, less content about it and am not sure what direction I want to go with The Ginger Diaries in the future. A few days ago I was trying to make some sort of business plan on how I was going to handle things in 2013, but then I realized, I’m a little lost …

‘Tis the season // Deck the halls

‘Tis the season // Deck the halls

Those who follow me on Instagram may have noticed, but we finally brought out all our Christmas decor! Traditionally we wait for Saint Nicholas, who we celebrate on December 6th, to come and go before we fully dive into the Christmas spirit. I’ve seen a lot of these post around the blogs, and as I’m a bit tired of doing outfit posts all the time, I thought it’d be nice to share a little of our house with you all. I …

What would you tell your sixteen year old self?

What would you tell your sixteen year old self?

About a week or two ago I received an email introducing me to a new form of social media. Storylane is a platform where users are challenged to tell a story, and share it. For those who don’t have that natural flow inspiration, there’s a endless list of questions you can answer too! The first question I choose to answer was “what would you tell your sixteen your old self?”. Here it goes! When I was sixteen, I had my first love. There …

The Ginger Diaries got a facelift!

The Ginger Diaries got a facelift!

Bye Bye!  My initial plan was to set up the new lay-out on Monday, but some friends were too anxcious to see it and to be honest, I was SO tired of the old look that I didn’t really want to wait  myself. When I first started I wanted to hire a web designer for the job. Things didn’t work out financially, so I had to do the redesign on my own. As those of you who follow me on Twitter …

The Public Image Babylon Blog Night

The Public Image Babylon Blog Night

Picture via The Public Image Photo by Steffi  I get the idea that I’m the last one to put up a post about the most fun event I’ve been to in a while. On the last day of August, Nele Moens invited a buch of Bloggers to celebrate the opening of her store The Public Image in the Wijngaardstraat in Antwerp. The invitation promised us a true girls night with lots of pink and free mini massages. What she forgot to mention …

Closet Cleaning: Organisation is key (Final)

Closet Cleaning: Organisation is key (Final)

To ease the pain of my upcoming exams, my parents suprised me with a trip to a local furniture store. Guess what I came home with: a brand new closet! I have three times the space I had before and am now finally able to keep my jackets, coats, scarfs and bags in the same closet as my clothes. I am in heaven. Getting dressed is so much more fun now that I have a clean, working and practical closet! In this last episode of&…
